Rules for using Computers at SBCC

Cyber Center
The Cyber Center is an open access PC lab for students. All computers in the Cyber Center are set up for use with Pipeline and Vista, Microsoft Office, and offer a pay-for-print solution. It costs 10 cents per page to print.

The Online College Helpdesk also staffs this lab, so students can come in for personal assistance with online technical issues. The Cyber Center is located in the Campus Center, across from the Cafeteria on East Campus. The Cyber Center hours of operation are:

9:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday
9:00 am - 1:00 pm Friday

LRC - (LRC website)
The Computer Commons and Annex is a drop-in computer lab with Macintosh and PC computers and laser printers. These computers provide basic word processing for school work as well as access to the Internet for class-related research. Printing is limited to school related documents. When the lab is full, individual use of the computers is limited to one hour (two hours for Computer Survival Skills students). A student photo ID card with current registration sticker is required to use the computer, please check in (and out) at the Learning Assistance Center counter. No food or drink of any kind is allowed in the Learning Resource Center. The LRC hours of operation are:

8:00 am - 8:00 pm Monday - Thursday
8:00 am - 4:00 pm Friday

Library (Library Website)
The Library Cyber Center and Cafe is located inside the Luria Library.

It is equipped with forty-nine Dell PC computers running operating system Windows-XP. Currently SBCC-registered students may use the Library Cyber Center and Cafe for class-related work. A SBCC student I.D. card must be displayed at all times at the majority of these computer stations, with the exception of three time-limited (10-minutes) standing stations.

The only available web browsers are; Netscape Navigator, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer. Other applications include; Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, as well as most common audio players. Printing is available for a fee; 10 cents per page for all black and white printing, and 50 cents per page for all color printing. The Library Cyber Center & Cafe hours are:

7:30 am - 10:00 pm Monday thru Thursday
7:30 am - 4:30 pm Friday
1:00 pm - 9:00 pm Sunday
